PC I Devil Boy Quest Walkthrough

I shouldn't need to tell you that this does INDEED CONTAIN SPOILERS! Then again, if you opened this, you would have probably expected spoilers of some sort. Read ahead at your own risk. Although I'd normally suggest you to read this from the beginning to the end, I know that most of people won't bother reading unless they're stuck at a certain point. So yeah, if you're reading into the middle of this, you might occasionally miss an item that should have been picked up much earlier. This, of course, leads to confusion. If you can't see what you did wrong, try to read all this for answers. I don't have ability to read your mind and tell you what's wrong. That's all I have to say for now.

Season 2

[The Beginning]

1. Starting the Game

Initial Area:
You begin in the "golden skies" area, a calming setting designed to lull you into a false sense of security.

Tip:
Avoid tapping the dialogue box too frequently, or you might trigger a sudden quick-time event (QTE) that immediately ends the game.

---

2. Early Warnings and Interactions

Zukan Warning:
Do not ignore the character named “Zukan” (displayed with “...”). Failing to interact with him may cause another game over.

Game Over Emphasis:
The game intentionally shows its game over screens, be cautious!

---

3. Entering the House and Acquiring Equipment

House Scene:

You find yourself in a house.

Near the end of the scene, select the “Fight” option for your own benefit.

Chest Interactions:
After regaining control, go to the red treasure chest in the corner and open it twice:

First Opening: Collect the Short Sword and Hide Armor.

Second Opening: Obtain the Corruption (a sword). Equip this sword.

Exit:
Leave the house through the front entrance located at the south end of the screen, make sure you equipped both the Sword and the Armor.

---

4. Ilya Village and the First Battle

Arrival at Ilya Village:
After a short scene, you arrive here.

Inside the Building:

Head west toward a large building with wounded soldiers and searchable bushes for items.

Enter the building and speak to an enemy to trigger your first battle.
(Note: The battle scene is lengthy, though the fight itself isn’t very challenging.)

After Battle Rewards:
You receive an Accessory Lunchbox, some potions, and key items.

Next Steps:
Exit the building and head east to a previously blocked village exit. The world map will open.

On the map, choose Tsugi Castle.

---

5. Tsugi Castle and Tsugi City

At Tsugi Castle:
Speak with the knight blocking the entrance.

In Tsugi City:

From the world map, enter Tsugi City.

Visit the pub near the center.

Proceed to the Magic Guild next door; talk to Mai to receive extra starter cash (you should have around 810 Ruu by now).

Exploration:
Wander around to search barrels, pots, etc., especially for extra Earth Xtal (approximately 9 can be found).

Next Destination:
Head to the Blacksmith Workshop located to the north of the city.

---

6. Blacksmith Workshop and Inn

Workshop:
Talk to the old man (Empu Geyeg) who gives you:

A Power Hammer (essential for blacksmithing)

A Blueprint Tabar (to create a Tabar Axe)

At the Inn:

Instead of resting, go to the second floor and speak with the NPC marked “Cute Girl” who offers an easy sub-quest.

Complete the quest but avoid overspending on supplies.

Exit the city via the southern entrance to refresh the world map.
(Tip: Later battles can be very hard if you rely only on your Short Sword.)

---

7. Unlocking New Areas: Fox Ruin and Primo Woods

New Areas:

Fox Ruin: Filled with Level 10 enemies.

Primo Woods: Initially blocked by logs.

Preparation:

Return to Ilya Village and visit the small farm on the west.

Talk to the old man to receive a Saw (needed to clear logs) and the starter skill “Devil’s Cut.”

Also, check the bushes near the village and the pot by the Item Shop for the Green Bag.
(Note: The Green Bag appears only after you accept its quest.)

---

8. Fox Ruin Details

Enemies:
Beware of Level 10 Assassins. Use the in-game Enemy Radar (white dots) to steer clear.

Navigation:

Hold Shift to dash and avoid enemies.

Find and open the Treasure Chest in the northwest corner of the map.

Return quickly to the entrance.
(While optional, obtaining this chest early helps you access the Merchant Guild.)

---

9. Returning to Tsugi City and the Merchant Guild

Travel Note:
Movement on the world map drains HP due to stamina loss.

Green Bag Quest:

If you have the Green Bag, complete the quest by returning it to the Cute Girl at the Inn for rewards the best being the White Mask with [Null Blind].

Merchant Guild:

If you have the Merchant Chest, visit the Merchant Guild to trade Rp for Pp. Cancel trades repeatedly to secure the best rate.

Bribing to Enter the Mine:

From the city entrance, head east until you hit a wall, then go north.

Find a soldier blocking an entrance; bribe him with at least 1 Pp to blind him and sneak through to the Mine Entrance.

Pick up the Pickaxe from the entrance before entering Satu Mine.

---

10. Satu Mine and Iron Ore Mining

Inside Satu Mine:

Ignore the miners, but be careful of Guards who will chase you if you get too close (they are around Level 10).

Use the pickaxe to mine Iron Ore.
(If the ores are depleted, exit and re-enter the mine for them to respawn.)

Preparation:
Gather at least 10 Iron Ore. Then, return to the Inn to restore HP and purchase needed supplies before heading to Primo Woods.

---

11. Primo Woods and Wood Gathering

Clearing the Path:
Use the Saw to clear logs, then collect wood from trees, similar to mining.

Battles:
Expect some Level 2 enemies; they’re manageable if you know what you’re doing.

Path Strategy:

Head east from the entrance to collect wood, then follow intersections:

Visit an initial right-side path for item chests.

Return and choose the left path leading to a red chest that contains a wood shield.

At the end of the path, find a center switch; pull it and return to the entrance.

Inventory Requirement:
Gather at least 20 woods (this should be easy if you follow these steps).

---

12. Blacksmith Training and Crafting the Tabar Axe

Training:

Back in Tsugi City, visit the workshop.

Interact with the anvil marked “Blacksmith Training.”

When the hammer nears the center of the bar, press the down button to level up your Blacksmith skill. (You start at 0, do this two or three times, but beware: failure causes you to lose the hammer.)

Save your progress at the nearby save point if needed.

Crafting:
Begin crafting the Tabar Axe once you have enough materials.

Rest & Supply:
Use the Inn to recover or buy supplies, then prepare for your next challenge: your first boss battle.

Return to Primo Woods:
With your new weapon and supplies, head back.

---

13. Primo Woods Boss Battle

Preparation:

In Primo Woods, pull the central switch again.

Navigate the newly unblocked path (to the east of the north path) and save your progress near the philosopher stone before the boss encounter.

Equip your White Mask and a weapon with [Earth Aspect]—both of which are crucial for the fight.

Boss – The Level 3 Carbuncle:

Buffs:

[Primo Woods Cover]: Reduces non-elemental damage to 25% (overcome this with an Elemental Weapon like the Tabar Axe).

[Resistance (XL)] and additional buffs (such as [Damage Cut], [Frenzy], [Ward of Undying], and [Magic Reflect]) come into play when her HP drops below half.

Attacks:

Ruby Blast: Deals Light Magic damage and may inflict Blind.

Ruby Missile: Deals Earth Magic damage repeatedly.

Ruby Light: Inflicts Blind, Slow, and Silence (though Silence is less problematic if you don’t use Magic).

She also performs physical attacks when other skills are on cooldown.

Battle Strategy:

Use your Elemental Weapon to nullify her [Primo Woods Cover].

Equip the White Mask to prevent Blind.

Guard effectively, especially when you see her long-charge attack (Ruby Light), which is telegraphed by an orange LV4 charge animation.

Attack using basic hits or your “Devil’s Cut” for extra damage.

Use recovery items as needed.

Outcome:
Once defeated, the boss will join your party and unlock the new area, Mizu City.

---

14. After the Boss: Next Steps

Return to Tsugi City:
Do not rush to Mizu City immediately.

Introducing Your New Ally:
At Tsugi City, visit the Magic Guild. Introduce your new companion to Mai (your self-proclaimed “GF”) to trigger a hidden flag.

Skill Improvements:
Stop by the Library to let Karen read and learn some skills.

Save Your Progress:
Make sure to save before departing for Mizu City.

[Enroute to Mizu]

1. Entering Mizu City and the Masked Guy Encounter

Initial Scene:
Upon entering Mizu City, a cutscene plays in which you encounter the masked guy from the Tsugi PUB (a reminder to avoid hammering the skip button).

Fight & QTE:
A conversation eventually leads to a battle with a quick-time event (QTE) in the middle. Failing this QTE means you’ll die.

Skill Gains:
Successfully completing this scene rewards you with new skills: Thunder's Thrust, Emblem Steal, and Breaking Triple Six.

Next Step:
Once you regain control, head straight to the PUB (located next to the Adventurer Guild, north of the square fountain). A new scene here unlocks the Mizu Castle area.

---

2. Preparing to Visit Mizu Castle

Guild ID Reminder:
Before leaving Mizu City, find the Cat Girl NPC with green hair at the fish stall. Speak with her to obtain your Guild ID, which is required to enter either the Mercenary or Adventurer Guild.

Traveling to Mizu Castle:
Exit Mizu City (by methods you’ve learned by now) and head toward Mizu Castle.

Castle Scene:
Once there, another cutscene plays. After it, you are sent back to Mizu City.

---

3. Unlocking New Areas in Mizu City

Central City NPC:
In central Mizu City, locate an NPC wearing a green cloak near the square fountain (this character was previously seen surrounded by soldiers). Speak with him to unlock a new area.

Brewing Area & Blueprint Flash:

Next, head to the Brewing Area. Look for a sign similar to those at the entrances of the Knight Academy or Mine Site in Tsugi City.

Ignore the decorative pots and instead talk with a mage girl with blond hair. Keep conversing with her until she gives you the Blueprint Flash (needed later to craft the Flash Spear).

Additional Town Activities:
You might also want to have Karen check books at the Library (as in Tsugi) and wander around looking at barrels and pots for extra items.

Side Quest at the INN:
Although there is an INN, note that its room rates are exorbitant (100k per night). Instead of resting here, talk to the Cute Girl at the reception. She gives you a subquest that involves:

Picking up a package from her friend (located to the south outside the city wall, near the river, simply head east from the entrance).

Bringing the package back to her.

After this, you’ll eventually return to Tsugi to craft the Flash Spear.

---

4. Acquiring and Using Thunder Xstal

Thunder Xstal Production:

If you’re low on Thunder Xstal, buy a pot from the bald pot seller next to the Adventurer Guild.

Go to the Brewery and fill the pot with clear water.

Interact with the pot marked with Thunder Xstal and wait until the pot icon reaches about the center, this works similarly to Blacksmith Training, just harder as the bar is smaller.

When successful, you’ll receive several Knn Potions in exchange for 1 Thunder Xstal.

Crafting Option:
You can also craft more Thunder Xstal using the crafting table or search around the workshop’s second floor. In many cases, gathering enough Knn Potions eliminates the need for this step.

---

5. Exploring Rock Hill and Managing Hazards

Mining and Navigation:

Head to Rock Hill. If you have a Pickaxe, you can mine rocks along the straightforward northern or summit paths.

Check the left and right sides for chests. Use Karen as the leader to avoid hidden landmines (they blink when you are close).

Enemy Encounters:

Enemies here (around level 4) sometimes attack in groups of three and may poison you or inflict “Rabies.”

For protection, equip Detox Earrings (from a subquest or shop) or stock up on Antidotes or a Tome of Cure A for Karen to learn.

Special Enemy Attacks:
Watch out for their Fang attacks:

Blue Fang inflicts the Stop status.

Red Fang inflicts Death. Both can be avoided by guarding.

Money Tip:
If you’re short on funds for a Tome of Cure A, consider taking Quest No.222 ("New Fields") at the Tsugi Adventurer Guild. This quest involves clearing weeds and stumps under a time limit and rewards you with 3,600 Ruu, extra Earth Xstal, and Rice (useful for cooking at Lexar House).

---

6. Bonding with Karen Before the Next Boss

Increasing Bond Levels:
Before facing the next boss, note that Karen gains a significant Bond effect at the start of battles. Her Bond EXP quickly reaches its cap (99).

Bonding Process:

Visit the INN in Tsugi and select “Yes” on the first prompt and “No” on the second to enter Lone Wolf mode.

Karen and other party members will temporarily leave the party, head to the woods south of the INN to see Karen on her usual hanging spot.

Speak with Karen to trigger events that raise her Bond Level, Bond Cap, and unlock her secondary potential.

Return to the INN and choose “Yes” to rest, which will bring Karen back to the party.

---

7. Meeting the Legendary Inventor at Rock Hill

Summit Interaction:
At the summit of Rock Hill, speak with the Legendary Inventor (Hendro). Make sure to save your progress beforehand.

New Skill – Meditation:
He will grant you a new skill called Meditation:

It restores half your HP for 3 Sp.

It has a 5-turn cooldown and is usable about six times in a single battle.

---

8. Boss Battle: Lv100 Leviathan

Boss Overview:
The boss is a heavily weakened Lv100 Leviathan. Despite the high level, it comes with significant elemental quirks:

Weakness:

Weak to Thunder damage.

Absorption:

Absorbs Water damage; Water attacks may restore its HP.

Enemy Attacks and Effects:

Grant Water Aspect & Azure Spike:
These moves can inflict a Water Saber effect on your weapon, which causes your attacks to restore the boss’s HP.

Karen is less affected due to her ability to use Magic Attacks.

If you attack with a non-elemental weapon or one that doesn’t have Thunder (or a specific counter like a Flash Spear), your damage may be nullified.

Buffs at Half HP:
When the Leviathan’s HP drops below half, it gains buffs such as [Frenzy], [Counter Heal], and [Ward of Undying]. It might also use:

Reflective Water (Reflect Damage L):
Reduces damage by 30% and reflects it back.

KZL Technique – Boomerang (Reflect Damage XXL):
Increases reflection to 50%.

Battle Strategy:

Early Moves:
Use Thunder's Thrust during the early battle phases (J:1 and J:2).

Karen’s Role:
Allow Karen to charge for her single-use Magic Cannon Plasma Beam.

Copy and Dispel:
Use Emblem Steal on Leviathan to copy some of its abilities; then use Magic Sacred Break Spell (copied from him) to dispel Reflect Damage and other buffs.

Weapon Considerations:
If inflicted with Water Saber, switch to a Flash Spear (with Thunder Aspect) or use magic scrolls granting Thunder Saber effect.

Goal:
Continue chipping away at the boss’s HP until defeated, and hope to obtain the Leviathan Armor (which provides an Absorb Water effect).

---

9. Post-Boss Events and Further Preparation

QTE and Flashback:
After defeating Leviathan, be ready for a game-over style QTE, failure means you must replay the battle. Following that, a lengthy flashback plays.

Returning to Mizu City INN:
When the flashback ends, you will find yourself at the Mizu City INN.

During the ensuing scene, if you previously introduced Karen to Mai at the Tsugi Magic Guild, Mai will give you a Fishing Rod and Hook. (If you missed this flag, you can later purchase these items from the Blacksmith in the next city.)

Extra INN Benefits:

On the second floor of the INN, check three large wooden boxes for newly placed Light Xstal.

You can also haggle the INN’s expensive room rate down to 5 Ruu by answering “No” at the first prompt.

[The Treasure, The Tower, and The Thieves]

1. Leaving the INN – Important Warning

  • Do Not Enter Lone Wolf Mode:
    • Reason: Leaving the INN in Lone Wolf mode before the upcoming scene triggers Dauna to jump from the roof and backstab you (resulting in an instant game over).
    • Reminder: Even if you bring Karen along, she may also attack you if you fail her QTE when she points her swordGun (her outfit vaguely reminds you of Tifa from FF7).
  • Reward:
    • Once the scene is over, you’ll gain a new skill called Steal (which lets you pilfer enemy money, items, equipment, etc.).

2. Preparing for Your Next Destination

  • Target Destination: Mizukage Tower.
  • Optional Side Activities Prior to Departure:
    • Fishing in Primo Woods:
      • If you acquire the Fishing Rod early, consider fishing for treasures in the ponds.
      • Tip: Always save your progress before starting the fishing minigame. Failing the minigame or losing your hook can render your rod useless.
    • Acquire Candles:
      • Visit the wandering merchant (referred to as Cat) to buy candles.
      • Purpose: The next destination is very dark; while candles (or torches) help improve visibility, note that their countdown continues even during battle.
      • Advice: They aren’t strictly necessary if you’re careful but don’t blame the guide if you inadvertently trigger a trap.

3. Entering Mizukage Tower

  • Exploration at the Entrance:
    • When you reach the Mizukage Tower, note that there is a basement accessible from downstairs.
    • Chests and Traps:
      • Feel free to check all chests (even the open ones), but avoid those with traps.
      • Use Karen’s Danger Detection to help identify traps.
  • Floor Hazards:
    • Floor 1 (F1):
      • Watch for giant holes.
    • Floor 2 (F2):
      • Beware of hole traps.
    • Recommendation:
      • Let Karen lead the way on floors 2 and 3 so she can spot traps for you; if you fall, your party takes damage and you’ll be sent to the basement, forcing you to replay sections from the Rock Hill Save Point.

4. Combat and Environment in Mizukage Tower

  • Enemy Information:
    • Enemies here are weak (around Lv5) and can often be overkilled with one attack if you use the Cat Grip ability and dual wield one-handed weapons (such as the Tabar Axe and the Ratna Knife from the Primo Woods pond).
    • Potential Status Effects:
      • Watch for Blind status (equip a White Mask to help prevent missed attacks).
      • Groups of enemies may include a leader with skills like Evade Physical, Dual Attack, or Haste.
      • For effects that reduce your physical damage (like Evade Physical), have Karen use her Magic Attack.
  • Pre-Boss Preparations:
    • Before stepping onto floor 4 (the Rooftop), ensure you’ve copied the enemy’s Blinding Magic (called Togel) if you plan to use Karen’s tactic.
    • Note that until you reach the rooftop, Dauna may assist by inflicting Fear on all characters (both enemies and Karen).

5. Rooftop Encounter – The Karin Duel

  • Initial Rooftop Scene:
    • Upon reaching the rooftop, you’ll encounter Jebraw (the Masked Guy) again.
    • QTE Reminder:
      • He attempts an instant kill with his signature thunder attack if you fail the QTE.
      • If you succeed, Karin intervenes by striking him, causing him to flee.
  • Duel Challenge with Karin:
    • Format: One-on-one—Karen does not participate in this duel.
    • Karin’s Starting Buffs (Sun Blessings):
      • Reduces damage she takes by half.
      • Doubles her Agility.
      • Regenerates her HP by 10% each turn for five turns.
      • Grants immunity to Fire, Thunder, and Light damage until Sun Blessings wear off.
        • Note: This renders your Thunder's Thrust ineffective during that period.
      • Increases damage taken from Ice, Water, and Dark elements by 50%.
    • Additional Abilities:
      • Karin starts with effects such as [Dispel Block], [Pierce], [Counter Heal], and [Maintenance].
      • When her HP drops below half, she may gain further buffs like a second [Dispel Block] (if the first has worn off), [Ward of Undying], [HP Regen], and [Pseudo-Overload] (which temporarily doubles her attacks while sacrificing defense).

6. Strategies to Defeat Karin

  • Tactic Options:

    • Karen Tactic:

      • Use the Breaking ability to quickly unlock Magic Command.
      • Then use Togel (copied Blinding Magic) to inflict Blind on Karin, drastically lowering her hit rate.
      • Repeat the process until she is defeated.
    • Leviathan Tactic:

      • Prior to battle, equip the Leviathan Armor.
      • Avoid using Emblem Steal (as it wipes the Grant Water Aspect).
      • Use Breaking quickly to unlock Magic Command and trigger Grant Water Aspect.
      • When Karin is inflicted with Water Saber, her attacks will heal you due to your armor’s [Absorb Water] effect.
      • Note: Water Saber does not trigger boss resistance and lasts 5–10 turns. Act quickly, as Magic Grant Water Aspect has a 10-turn cooldown.
      • (Azure Spike is an alternative but has a long charge time and consumes a lot of MP.)
  • Additional Reminder:

    • Be sure to evade Karin’s four-charge (orange) ability called Demoralize since it may inflict Paralysis—stay mobile and guard appropriately.

7. After the Duel

  • Karin Joins Your Party:
    • Once defeated, Karin joins your party.
    • Bonding Note:
      • Karin’s starting Bond EXP is based on your HP percentage after the duel.
      • Aim to finish the fight with full HP to quickly level up her Bond Level.
  • Benefits of Karin’s Bonding:
    • Unlocks her potential.
    • Allows you to ride her on sections with jumping spots.
  • Party Management:
    • Karin also provides the party item Format Pen, which allows you to adjust your party formation (accessible using the “S” shortcut).

8. Post-Tower Options

  • Next Destinations:
    • After clearing the tower, you may head back to Tsugi and Mizu cities.
    • Objectives include:
      • Letting Karin learn new skills from the libraries.
      • Completing a subquest in Mizu City for a Dauna class-up item.

[Piercing the Rock Mountain]

Entry & Initial Path

  • Upon entering Rock Mountain, a cutscene plays.
  • No QTEs yet, follow the linear path to the summit.
  • Enemies are similar to Rock Hill (Lv7), with some Lv10 assassins. Most can be defeated in 1–2 turns.

Encounter with Hendro

  • Hendro blocks the path briefly and gives you the key item: Breaker.
  • This is essential for progressing later.

Midway Summit Events

  • You’ll meet a woman who triggers a QTE (press "Z" multiple times).

    • WARNING: Fail this QTE intentionally.
      • Success = instant game over (Level 100+ boss fight).
      • Fail it by pressing the wrong button or letting the timer run out.
  • After failing the QTE:

    • Otama joins your party.
    • Continue to the summit.

Summit Events

  • Sparkle on the floor triggers another QTE (bungee jump with no rope).
    • Failing = death.
    • Succeeding = unlock new AoE Earth skill.
  • An unconscious man in green (seen earlier in Mizu) is taken away by a winged woman.
    • If you don't have a Pickaxe, he drops it.
    • If you do, he drops 4x R Reinforce (used for gear upgrades).

Optional Actions Before Proceeding

  • Return to Tsugi or Mizu for:
    • Otama’s library entries.
    • Supplies (torches, candles).
  • At the summit, look for a white animated circle near a tree.
    • If Karin’s bond is high, she can use Jump to return instantly to entrance.
    • Tip: Use Karin’s Jump often, it skips large distances in cities (~100x100 grids).

About Otama

  • Otama is more than she claims:
    • Tanker, Bard, Tailor.
  • Make her party leader, then:
    • Use any crafting table to make Ropes.
      • Need leather? Buy from:
        • Mizu City (red-haired man at gate).
        • Tsugi City NE (only “sometimes” sells).
    • Use rope on:
      • Sparkle tile in Tsugi City (climb up to wood farm zone, enemy-free).
      • Rock Hill SE for a red chest with Tempest Lance (key weapon vs next boss).

Rock Mountain – Cave Section

Preparation Checklist

  • Level up Otama’s Bond.
  • Get torches/candles.
  • Make sure to complete summit events first.
  • Optional: Make Otama your Tank, Karin your DPS with Tempest Lance.

Entering the Rock Cave

  • Before the summit, find a cracked wall, use Breaker.
  • Inside, find Dauna (northeast cave area):
    • She takes your Cure Potion XL.
    • QTE to stop her from running.
      • Success = joins your party until Fon Fon Castle.
      • She’s under-equipped but has Shot skill (80% kill chance on mobs).
    • Doesn’t need library readings, she learns her special skills automatically by leveling up.

Navigating the Cave

  • Northwest = downstairs lead to darkness.
    • Use candles/torches.
  • Find another Breaker (SW part of cave).
  • Beat the boss guarding it to exit.

Boss Fight: Golemu

Overview

  • Type: Earth-elemental Golem.
  • Immune to Earth, weak to Wind.
  • Always start with Earthen Wall (BP = current HP).
  • Follows up with:
    • Shield, Ward of Undying, Frenzy (after HP < 50%).
    • Earth Render, Quake, basic physical attack.
    • Rarely uses Stop or healing.

Suggested Strategy

  • Karin (DPS):
    • Tempest Lance > Dash (Haste) > Flame Saber > Burning Horn (Overload) > Lunge (Pierce).
  • Otama (Tank/Bard):
    • Equip Sylphid Harp, Leviathan Armor.
    • Turn 1: Debus > Fluffy Fox/Wise Fox for BP/NDP.
    • Then use continuous songs (regen BP/SP).
  • You (Support):
    • Cast Breaking, Grant Water Aspect.
    • Use Emblem Steal for skills (e.g., Earth Render).
    • Steal Golemu Armor after [Maintenance] is broken.
    • Focus on Stop spells or supportive actions.

Tip: Tempest Lance's Lunge with Overload bypasses Golemu's BP.

Note: If lacking Sylphid Harp, use the best Wind gear/skills available.

Post-Battle

  • Use Breaker on wall behind Golemu to clear darkness and exit.
  • Exit leads to new area on Rock Mountain.
  • Loot all nearby chests.
  • Proceed east to unlock Fon Fon Castle on world map.

Thanks for catching that! Here's the revised and corrected summary with those changes applied:

  • Rosen joins the party.
  • Proceed to INN, then to Iapara Village.

5. City Changes & Optional Events

  • Visit the Library with Rosen.
  • New NPCs & Quests:
    • Scholar: simple book delivery to Iapara Village.
    • Rich man: Trade your Pot (from Mizu pottery) for Gold Bars.
      • Don't sell the Gold Bars – they’re a Class Up item.
    • Poor youth: buy Dirt (10K Ruu) and receive a Shovel (triggers hidden flag).
      • Alt: Blacksmith’s Shovel (6K Ruu) if skipping flag.

Warning: Avoid Lone Wolf Mode, leads to game over during Mai’s scene.

6. Shovel Usage & Hidden Loot

  • Use the Shovel to dig up treasure:
    • Near Jebraw’s house: Lockpick (can be duplicated).
    • Near Dauna’s spot (beside the rock).
    • Other locations: Primo Woods, Mizu City, etc.
  • In Mizu City’s Brewing Area, use Rosen as leader to lift the bucket and access a red chest.

7. Final Prep

  • Head to Iapara Village.
  • Deliver the book and wrap up subquests before advancing.

[The Frontier Village]

Upon arrival at Iapara Village, head to the old PUB, its entrance blocked by wooden barricades. Assign Rosen as lead—she can lift and throw the barricades to open the path. Inside the fake PUB, go upstairs to find a guide NPC who asks for a password. DO NOT answer using the given option—this will kill your party. Instead, press [X] as if haggling. You'll be granted entry to Cat’s Cat, Frey’s hidden base.

Frey sells nearly every material you’ll need. If you missed her event flag back in Mizu City, she’ll give you a harsh test: bring her 999 fish. If you succeed (and survive her death spell), she becomes your buddy and grants you a Guild ID. If you did catch her event in Mizu, this entire hurdle is skipped.

Now’s a good time to stock up and craft gear, especially because the next areas will be punishing. For example, crafting the Punish Axe is advised—it’s especially effective against Undead.

After you’re done prepping, speak to the NPC by the pond (center of town), then go west where you'll meet Dauna.

Dauna Recruitment

  • She demands 5,000 Ruu to join your party.
  • If you're broke, she’ll pity you and hand you some change BUT she does not join your party.
  • Make sure you have the funds so she’ll actually join, because:
    • She has strong AoE skills, ideal for the Death Forest ahead, which is crawling with Undead.

Death Forest

  • The enemies here are Level 13 Undead.
  • Basic attacks won’t truly “kill” them unless they carry Light-elemental properties or certain elemental skills. Otherwise, they regenerate.
  • Effective ways to defeat Undead:
    • Use Light-element weapons, skills like Thunder’s Thrust, or Dauna’s Summons (from Nesian Command).
    • Dauna’s magic is effective even with low MAG, since these enemies don’t resist magic and don’t scale well against it.
  • Undead Traits:
    • Recovering HP hurts them (Regen will deal damage).
    • Drain spells reverse (you lose HP/MP instead).
    • Fire damage gives them [Kismet] (Black Flame).
  • S.Ghosts are dangerous, take them out quickly.
  • If the battle drags too long, Frey may assist you, if she’s your buddy.
  • On the 13th turn, the enemy may receive assist:
    • A Burner-ranked Evil Spirit (Lv 25 Mid-Boss) appears.
    • If you're unprepared, it’s strongly advised to flee before that happens.

Equip Golemu Armor to reverse the Life Leash spell (Earth element drain), which will then heal you instead—makes for great counterplay.

The forest is a simple but large maze. Your objective is to find an NPC in the southwest corner. Get all loot, including Ermah wood from Trees, before talking to the NPC. This NPC triggers a scene that adds Arya Desert to the world map.

Arya Desert

  • Enemies are Level 14, not dangerous.
  • Occasionally, your whole party and enemies get bombarded with Shuriken inflicting [Explosion]—the culprit appears later.
  • Grab all treasure chests.
  • Optional: Use Saw on Cactus for juice (QTE):
    • Success = small HP recovery.
    • Fail = poison.
  • Follow footsteps, but don’t step on them.
  • At the end, you'll face the masked guy again.
    • Watch for a QTE.
    • If Otama hasn't learned Shadow Clone Song, the masked guy will kill you instantly.

After the scene, go north to an Oasis:

  • Enjoy a lighthearted scene, hehehehe~
  • DO NOT select “I don’t” or you'll trigger a BAD END (game over).

Finish up and exit east to unlock Pyramid on the world map.

Pyramid

  • Golemo (inferior Golemu) protects mages with Ally Guard.
    • Weak to Thunder and Fire.
    • Karen is great here to cover the party.
  • Ancient Lore Assist? may cast Evade Physical on everyone for 5 turns—bring magic user to the main party if you aren't confident.

First Floor:

  • Maze with spike traps and switches.
  • Grab blue chest (north > west > north > east).
  • Flip switch to lower spikes and continue forward.

Second Floor:

  • Obvious hole traps. Let Karen lead for warning signs.

Third Floor:

  • Encounter with Sphinx and a riddle. Answer: “Human”.
  • Sphinx joins your party, grants:
    • Ring of Magic
    • Setan Kober (Dagger)

If you hired Dauna earlier, she’s waiting outside the Pyramid (west path). Sometimes Frey is nearby (east path).

Maduin - Miracle Cure

  • Return to Maduin INN.
  • Give 2 key items to Mai—she creates Miracle Cure.
  • Use it on the unconscious elf.
  • King of Fon Fon summons you.

Fon Fon Castle

  • You’ll receive:
    • Keris Agni
    • A reward, based on your dialogue choices.

Explore:

  • Library with Sphinx
  • Craft items
  • Rest at INN
  • Prepare supplies

Once ready, Kakao Desert is now open.

Kakao Desert

  • First area: narrow zigzagging path walled by cactus.
  • Second area: simple maze with mirage teleport traps.

Path through mirage maze:

  1. East (hit cactus), north, east, south, east (teleport).
  2. North, then east before wall to dead end (teleport).
  3. West, north, west before wall, then north at cactus wall (teleport).
  4. Reach northwest for an oasis and a short scene.

Boss: Sand Worm

  • If Dauna is Lv 18, use her:

    • Half Better to boost MAG.
    • Charge Gigaflare (3 turns)—wipe the boss in ~5–6 turns.
    • Beware: Half Better cuts her Max HP in half (HP% retained).
  • If not using Dauna:

    • Kill Golemo first.
    • Sand Worm:
      • Absorbs Earth.
      • Resists Dark, Fire, Ice, Thunder, Earth.
      • Weak to Light, Wind, Water.
      • Uses: Shockwave, Quake, Thunder, Sand Field (inflicts Blind).
      • Below ¾ HP = gains Frenzy.
      • Below ½ HP = gains Ward of Undying + Devilish.
      • Ultimate: Quicksand (Stun + Down).

Defeat it and exit the area to unlock Mount Kaelo on the world map.

Next Step

Before heading to Mount Kaelo:

  • Craft Blaze Sword if blueprint available.
  • Final prep time: item restock, gear upgrades, bonding, etc.

[Mount Kaelo the Border of Desert and Snow]

1. Cecila Duel (Solo Battle)

  • After the entrance, you’ll meet Cecila blocking the path.
  • Talk to her when you are ready to duel. You will fight her solo, no allies will help you in this fight only.
  • No Game Over if you lose, and story progress is unaffected.
But winning is recommended to get items like:
    • Princess Ring, Tome of Heal, or rarely Gladius.
  • Tips to win:
    • High DEF & MDF, even stronger than Leviathan.
    • Stacks NDP (Non-Damage Points) during dialogues.
    • Use Magic Penetrate Up (copied from Satu Mine guards) to bypass her defense.
    • Beware:
      • Ether Counter – triggers after NDP breaks or from Day Star. Avoid attacking when active.
      • Wrath Guard + Auto Guard combo – can reflect damage unpredictably.
      • Angelic Boost – buffs all her stats.
      • Resistant to most status effects (except Poison).
      • Will occasionally heal with Meditation or fully recover with Last Knight Kzl.
    • Strategy: Use basic attacks when she didn't use Ether Counter, Charge Skills are risky, heal with potions/Meditation when needed, and steal Bandage from her if possible.

2. Elf Girl Joins

  • After the battle, examine the snowman to trigger a scene where the cured Elf Girl joins your party.
  • The path ahead unlocks.

Mount Kaelo - Path to the Summit

Enemies:

  • Golemo – manageable.
  • Ninja – fast, not too threatening.
  • Sage – dangerous support/caster hybrids. Take them out first or use Karen’s Ruby Light for protection.

Progress Tips:

  • Avoid Small Red Chest near farm field (loot depends on Sylph battle outcome).
  • At the bridge: QTE event (can be deadly).
  • After crossing:
    • If Dauna is in the party, she leaves here.
    • Ninja replaced by Sage going forward.
  • Prepare for boss battle before ascending the stairs with the two logs.

Boss: Cerberus

  • Absorbs Ice, Weak to Fire.
  • Starts with:
    • Ward of Undying
    • 3 NDP
  • Gains buffs at each 25% HP loss:
    • +5000 BP
    • Perma Barrier, False Data: Life, Frenzy

Attacks & Ailments:

  • Deals Ice-element physical & magical damage
  • Inflicts:
    • Despair (no SP gain by attack)
    • Slow Charge
    • Confuse, Stop, Deaf (disrupts Otama’s support songs)
  • Diamond Reflect – reflects damage taken back to attackers (Use Pierce or Dispel to negate)

Strategy:

  • Use Karin’s Overload + Flame Saber
  • Equip Blaze Sword if available
  • Optional 3rd party member should be Support or Tank (Mira/Otama)
  • Lexar starts battle with Pseudo-Immortality (resurrection + SP boost) automatically during this battle only.
  • Drops: Tiger Skin (BeastMaster effect), no useful steals

Sylph Battle (Summit)

Key Mechanics:

  • Goal: Land a single hit to win the battle.
  • Starts with Wind Counter (like Ether Counter, Wind-element damage).
  • If Mira & Rirurira present: unique dialogue warning not to attack during counter.

Danger Moves:

  • Shark Cyclone – reduces HP by a LOT.
  • Shimsham – halves HP
  • Lasts ~10 turns, at Turn J:9, be ready to strike.

Strategy:

  • Don’t wear Golemu Armor (Vulnerable to Wind)
  • Wait for Wind Counter to drop, then immediately land a hit.
  • Failure to act quickly = Wind Counter resets
  • Defeating Sylph in one Hit K.O = chance to obtain Blueprint Bayu

Post-Battle Outcome:

  • Sylph becomes a summon skill for buffs.
  • Chest Loot Logic:
    • If you own Blueprint Bayu = Red Chest gives Blueprint Ratna
    • If not = Red Chest gives Blueprint Bayu
    • You can refight Sylph for drop later, so delay chest opening if didn't get the Blueprint Bayu if you seek a Completion/Blueprint Ratna.

Post-Summit & Map Expansion

  • Wind Barrier disappears, unlocking path to the east exit.
  • World Map unlocked with Dadakan now accessible.

Dadakan Town:

  • Enter building with a Save Point for cutscene.
  • Unlocks Zukaru City on map.
  • Explore for items and accept Sub Quests.
    • Sub Quest Objective: item in Mizukage Tower’s basement
  • When ready, head to Zukaru City.

🏙️ Zukaru City (The Capital of Holy Kingdom)

Goldark Sword or Goldark Saber (Lv 40+ weapons).

Preparation Tips:

Dual-wield best weapons with Cat Grip.

Optional: equip [Null Stun] gear.

Battle Tips:

Goldark Starts with [Destiny] (absorbs all elements for 5 turns).

Use Sylph summon or Guard.

Use pure physical (non-element) attacks while [Destiny] is active.

Watch for:

Final Rampage + Flying Dragon Slash combo (deadly).

Lv 6 Max Charge explosion attack (~2–3k unblockable damage) but avoidable with Guard.

Minor healing from triple-strike.
